The best fat burner for women is not going to be found on the shelf at your local supplement shop. The only thing most of those “magic pills” burn is your hard earned money! Spending money on snake oil and being disappointed with the results is really sad, but damaging your health is tragic. It’s tough to resist the incredibly persuasive advertising, but you really can burn fat without taking unnecessary risks with your health.
The fact that you are targeting fat loss and not just indiscriminate weight loss, shows that you are working toward a healthier lifestyle. If you have an eating plan and an exercise program in place, then you have all you need to successfully burn off body fat. However, be sure that you have a means of measuring body fat, so that you can monitor your progress. Your weight may not change significantly, but your body fat percentage should be dropping. During the first days of your plan you will be expecting to see results. Please don’t set yourself up for disappointment. Be prepared to measure properly. By manipulating your diet and exercise routine, you can turn your body into a fat burning machine. At the same time you must avoid slowing your metabolism. Let’s look at your eating plan first.
It won’t take long for your body to notice the double whammy of reduced calorie intake and regular exercise. Immediately, it will respond by slowing your metabolism. If you don’t take action, eventually your body will go into starvation mode. Dieters refer to this as a plateau. Alternating between high and low carbohydrate days will help you maintain a high metabolic rate.
Cardio is where you really burn the calories. The more frequently you exercise the more calories and fat you burn. Recent studies have shown that high intensity interval training can increase fat burn. Interval training is a system of alternating short periods of maximum effort with short recovery periods. In this case, short means 30 to 120 seconds. This type of training increases your metabolic rate and your body will continue to burn calories at an elevated pace even after the workout is complete.
The best fat burner for women is also the best fat burner for men. Keep your metabolism fired up with carbohydrate cycling, frequent cardio, and high intensity interval training.

Any weight loss or diet plan, including low-carb plans like the introduction phase of the Atkins Diet will result in water loss during the first week or two. If you’re on a weight loss program you’re under constant attack - attack from the food bandits all around you. It seems everyone is looking for that magic bullet like that rapid weight loss secret that will instantly drop excess weight and turn you into a supermodel. Not likely
The fact is, there are healthy, effective and simple techniques you can use to accomplish weight loss - and keep it off over the long term. A weight loss coach will help you each and every step of the way providing you support, inspiration, and will show you the secrets that all slim people know, so that you can lose weight in a healthy way and allow you to maintain your weight and get back to your Body Perfect Fitness and Health for life.
Most doctors will tell you that weight loss supplements are not required and that only a good controlled diet along with daily work out is the only thing one requires to lose weight. Contrar to what many skeptics and uninformed persons may report or say, even if your body sheds water during the first few days of a controlled carbohydrate diet plan like the South Beach Diet or Atkins, the body’s water balance soon will return to normal and the weight loss that follows is the loss of fat pounds.
Some types of weight loss surgeries reduce the body’s ability to absorb important vitamins and minerals. Many people begin a weight loss program with their basal metabolic rate (BMR), which is the amount of energy (calories) your body uses in a resting state, For many people, the improvement in their overall health, following weight loss surgery, is just as important as the weight loss itself.
Work in consultation with your health care giver if you decide to try an over the counter weight loss pill to help you lose weight. If you insist on knowing your progress by weight loss and want to use a scale, try to weigh yourself at the same time everyday. Whatever weight loss work out you choose, try to get your heart rate up to about 75 percent of your safe upper limit.
Ok, these are a few of the things I used in the past to get through a weight loss plateau. If you have been frustrated with past weight loss attempts, give the 3 W’s of weight loss a try. Discuss the options with your doctor and take his advice in planning your work out and weight loss program.
So you sweat and strain with your chosen weight loss program, perhaps ecstatically so at the start. So although I don’t think you can use fasting as a diet or weight loss program, I do feel that it can be a great start to a proper weight loss diet and work out program. Therefore, creating a one-for-all weight loss or work out program simply would not work.
Not just any work out program will do for weight loss. If you have any health problems you should consult a physician before starting any weight loss program. Keep in mind, too, that your weight loss program will most likely include some physical work out.

I’m not new to the weight loss struggle..
Mine has been a 13-year battle..
Growing up I was a healthy/naturally thin size 0 and in certain clothing a size 1. I’m 5′8 with long legs/arms/115 lbs
I had a fantastic metab..Ate like a horse as well and never gained an ounce..{oh, those were the days…}
Once I became preggers everything changed…lol
I gained 65 lbs. by the time I went into labor..
I truly must of thought I had a 65 lb. baby in me bc once he was born I couldn’t believe what my new body looked liked!
Came home and was stuck in maternity clothes forever bc all of my things were a size 0 and 1..
I was now in an 11….A BIG change for someone who has always been so tiny..
This was the start of the battle..Going up/down..
I’ve been every size from 9-18.. I could open a store with all the clothes!
I’m now donating…lol
My new battle.. Started at a size 18 - 187 lbs..{The highest I’ve ever been}
I’ve been doin’ the Best Life Diet Plan..
I’m now 177.4 and have lost a few in. as well. I’m a tight size 14
I have really been enjoying the book/menus and I hope this will finally be the Life Plan for me and my family..
My goal is to be 135-140 which will put me in a size 9/10 where I have been happy/healthy before. I feel really good there and happy..
If that is just not possible bc of my age and stuff, I’ll take bein’ a size 11/12 at around 145-150 lbs..
Time will tell..
I want to win this battle this time and maintain..
Ok, I am now starting a diary. I have been lurking around here since last September. This site is full with great information! At the time I started my FINAL attempt (I say final because I WILL succeed this time) for my weight loss as well as a healtier life style.
Shortly: I am 5′4″ and my highest weight is 205, after I had my daughter in 2005 July. I started my pregnancy at 166 (where I am today) which was still way overweight for me. After coming home from the hospital I immediately started my “diet” and was in for a rough ride. So many give-ups, fresh starts, “poor me”s, I can’t even count. And I felt miserable the whole time. My birthday last September I weighed 185, I only lost 15 lbs in 14 months . I was unhappy and disgusted with myself. I do not want another pregnancy with being so overweight. I guess I realized that I was doing it so wrong. So I started changing things but went about it slowly so I won’t give up because it is too hard.
I only adjusted things in minor steps. First I cut out all sugary drinks and only drank water. Then I started cutting out on my ice-cream consumption… and so on.
The hardest part was for me is exercising. Just couldn’t make myself do it. Then I joined an all women gym(not curves) and it made it all better. I found so much support there no matter the fitness level. I am still going to the same gym. Now I make sure that I exercise 6 days a week and it has to fit into my schedule. I have to give credit to hubby on this one because he had to make some adjustments too. I now run 6 days a week between 3-4 miles and do strenght-training for 2 days.
In May we went on vacation visiting my birth country, Hungary. I did not watch what I eat or drank or whatever. And gained 9 lbs back. I left with 165 and came home as 174. What a stupid thing that was. I am still not back to my “pre-vacation” weight. I did get right back on with my healthly life-style but it was a downer and all I can blame is myself.
So I am writing this diary so this will not happen again. Hubby and I are planning a brother or sister for my daughter in 2008 so I gave myself till the end of 2007 to lose the remaining 22 lbs. It would be about 1 lb/week weight loss and I am ok with that.
Our family is vegetarian so I have to make sure we eat enough protein.
So here is a start of my journey and I know i will be reading this at Christmas time 20 lbs. lighter.!!!
Hajni
Edit: In 2002 we were building our house and worked physically on it about 3-4 hrs a day. Also I took ephedra based product (which I will never do again, the side effects were horrible: mood swings, insomnia, sweats, irregular heart-beat, no periods…etc) and lost about 20 lbs, ending up 150 lbs. I kept that weight for about 6 months and then I gained everything all back… staying at a 166-170 lbs. I remember how good 150 felt, and I still have the clothes. When I look at them, I think: no way I ever fit in those. But then I think: YES I WILL FIT INTO THOSE CLOTHES AGAIN!!!
Hello all, my name is Heather; I am married and have a 3 year old son.
Ok to begin my story…
I have always had a problem with my weight. From the time I can remember I was always on the heavier side. At 12 or so I weighed like 120 lbs and that’s when the weight gain really started. As I was becoming a woman… lol I still laugh at the thought of why they say we become women. Anyways, by the time I started 9th grade I was in a 38dd and about 140 lbs if not heavier. I was always teased by the other girls in my class.
Ok fast-forward a little bit… by the time I was 16 which was in 1999, is where things really began. I met my husband which at the time I weighed 150 lbs and was in a size 18-20 for most of my clothes. I met him during a summer job so that I could make some money as well as get a little bit more exercise in as I wasn’t happy with the way I looked at the time either.
In 2000, at the age of 17, I found pregnant for the first time and unfortunately lost the baby which I now see as although a sad thing, a good thing. As neither my hubby or I was really ready at that age for the responsibilities of raising a child. I had gained weight by then as we weren’t really paying much attention to how we ate at that age.
In 2001 I graduated High School at the age of 18 and was at what I thought was my heaviest weight yet I had weighed 200 lbs.
In June of 2002, my now hubby who at the time was just my boyfriend and I got married. This was after he had joined the Army. We then moved to Southern Cali. That year we had started going to the gym every few days but eventually gave up as our work schedules were making it hard to continue to go together and neither of us wanted to do it alone. I was steadily gaining weight as I was working at Burger King… my food when I was on the clock was 50 % off which didn’t help when all I wanted to do was eat… I never seemed to have portion control over things like that.
In 2003 I got pregnant again with my son, Alexander who is now three. When I found out I was pregnant and went to the doc they weighed me which was a bit of a shock as we didn’t own a scale at home so I had no clue how much I had actually gained over the years. I was now at my heaviest point in my life at 220 lbs at the start of my pregnancy. In June of 2004, I had my little boy at 34wks5days along. I weighed 241lbs when they checked me in at the hospital. Which to me sounded like I had gained quite a bit considering I was only told to gain 10-15 lbs as I was overweight to begin with. According to the doc I had only gained a total of 12 lbs because I had lost weight due to morning sickness.
Ok so now its 2007 and I am at a grand total of 261 pounds which according to my doc I have lost 5 lbs from the last time I had seen him which was in October of 2006. So if you add that to my current weight my highest weight on record is 266 lbs. Which I had never thought I would ever allow myself to get that heavy.
The whole reason I am starting the journey is to surprise my husband and also get healthier so that I can be around to see my son and possibly future children grow up.
I am currently starting to really watch what I eat as well as count calories and make sure to eat healthier meals instead of going out to eat or eat a lot of junk food. I am also on 2 meds which seem to help me in my journey so far as I am much happier now that I am on them. I was always depressed and when depressed or stressed I tend to eat and not healthy foods either. Which we all know in the weight loss world isn’t a good thing. I am currently hoping to lose 111 lbs which would bring me to a goal weight of 150 lbs. At that time I will rethink and focus my attention on whether I am happy being at that weight or try to lose more. I am giving myself a year to get to my goal weight but would really love to see some improvement in my weight loss by the time I see my husband again which is in 9months, 1 week and a day. Unless the military changes the dates as he’s in the army, currently stationed in Afghanistan. I have been using my walk away the pounds DVDs and taking daily walks to the park with my son who loves the outdoors and also playing with our dogs. I am using some small 3 pound hand weights to do some muscle toning but not really focusing on that as much as I am just trying to lose weight.
To me the best support comes from family and friends whether they are in person or online. My best friend autumn, who has helped me through so many things, is the greatest. She is the one who told me about this site. I feel that my goals are pretty realistic and that as long as I keep focused and motivated I will be able to reach them. I plan on starting right away and hope that by the time I see my hubby again I will be a new person… lol in the way I look and feel but not so much in how I am as a person per say… Good luck to all in their goals and any advice or recommendations are welcome.
Howdy everyone I said I was going to “START OVER” and I feel I am at the point where I need to let go of the past and start with the present.

I noticed when I fail at eating right and exersicing I dread coming here because I feel so LOW and like a failure.Ok heres to NEW beginning’s,TAMMY
I followed a friend of mine in here and have realized I need to do this once again or I will just keep climbing up on the scale - that my weight won’t stay in one place if I don’t do anything about it.
I like to whine about things like not getting to eat what I want, but then I have to face the facts … do I want to eat what I want and be sluggish the rest of my life or do I want to lose weight and be healthy?
I have lost weight in the past to the tune of 66 lbs. My heaviest being 210 lbs. - on my 5′3″ body - it’s not the healthiest. I’m currently (as of this morning at 172.5 lbs) I would like to be in the 140’s. I know that it will take a lot of diligence (dh’s new word for the day) and patience. And I know I’m not going to get there by eating ice cream or snickers bars everyday.
I have got a plan - that’s one way to reach your goals right?
So my plan is to exercise at lest 30-40 min. per day for 5 days a week and to choose healthier foods. Limit my cals to under 1500 and up my water consumption (which is barely one 16 oz tumbler nowadays.) I have plenty of things to do as far as exercise goes - so there is really no excuse not to exercise.
We have the cupboard and fridge stocked with lots of healthy goodies - so no reason to falter there. I just have to do it!
I don’t know if I will check in here everyday or not, but I will try (it’s not like I’m not on the puter everyday anyway.)
So, if I start whining or complaining - just give me a good smack or kick in the butt so that I can wake up and get back to reality.
========================================
Yesterday I didn’t do formal exercise, but I did watch what I ate and did a lot of gardening (pulling weeds and trimming hedges.)
My food:
coffee w/ lite creamer
Slim-fast protein bar
2 pieces of hard candy (church)
cottage cheese w/ strawberries
a salad made w/ spinach and mustard greens - tomatoes, almond slivers, and that new spray dressing w/ a little cheese
2 organic cookies - blech think next time I’ll skip those fo sho!
Homemade tostada - lean beef, enchilada sauce, mustard greens, black olives, jalapeños, tomato, onions.
Doritos - not the healthiest I know, but I was starving and it was late at night while I was waiting on my peep to show up to watch a meteroid shower.
Water- 2 16oz tumblers
Today my goal is 40 min. workout - I think I’ll dust off my pilates video. And keep cals. 1500 or less.
I have already started one in a little notebook by my bed as well so I can reflect upon it and use it as a tool in my weightloss efforts. I will also likely keep it informal as that is a more realistic approach for me, for now anyway.Ate healthy breakfast of Raisin Bran, 1% milk & cantelope. Went out for early dinner at Ruby Tuesday where I think I did very well: Salad bar (general veggies/minimal dressing), BBQ chicken breast(only ate half), mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Later in the evening took the kids and dog for 30 min walk.

Day 2:
Had a great day-motivated and excited for this weightloss journey.Breakfast was a lite english muffin with peanut butter, grapes and coffee. Lunch was a garden salad with the left over chicken from the night before. And dinner was a 93% lean burger on wheat bread, baked french fries, green beans and side salad. Dessert was a Slim A Bear ice cream sandwhich. My only disappointment was that I snitched some of the french fries, so I ate more like a portion a and half, instead of one regular portion. Exercise and portion control are my weak areas. The good news is I did get a bit of exercise today. I mowed the lawn and did other yard work for a total of about an hour and half, and then in the afternoon I walked up to school and back (probably 1 1/2 miles round trip).
On a side note, I took some pictures of myself in a bathing suit- REALITY CHECK! I have been in denial for too long. I also took measurements:
size = 14
chest = 43 inches
waist = 35 inches
hip = 45 1/2 inches
thigh = 25 inches
arm = 13
The scale records weight and % body fat = 180lbs/39.1 % body fat

Day 3:
Remaning Focuses! Eating healthy : Breakfast was raising bran, 1% milk, and a weightwatchers yogurt. Lunch was a turkey and cheese sandwhich on a lite roll, bran crackers and cantelope. 94% ff popcorn for a snack and dinner was left over spaghetti whole wehat pasta (all in moderate portions).
I also got some exercise in walking up to school and back.
I dont seem to crave anything, even didnt bother with a after dinner snakc/dessert. I cleaned off all the junk on the Nordik Trak, wiped it down and took some steel wool to the flywheel so NO EXCUSES not to get on it and burn some calories! Also, been focused on drinking my water bottle (34 oz).
